Welcome to our forum for passions and hobbies that send a zing through our bathing suit places. It’s an exploration of everything that people obsess about in strange, magnificent, and inspiring ways.
So go on holiday with us. Bring your SPF 45 and swim trunks & dive right in!
Bathing Suit Places is two people:
LAPSTER:
First exposed to computers and networking technology in Amsterdam as the line producer for a classical-turned-digital animation company, I fell down the GeekHole and never saw the light of day again (if you are familiar with the term ‘Amiga’ you’ll know it’s been a long road). On my return to America, I learned to dismantle and rebuild computers, which became useful in my next computer job, running a small ISP in Snohomish, WA (if you know the term ‘Linux’ you can guess what I was doing). Currently I’m the CEO and part owner of a small design company - Northwest Media Production Services - and happily bilingual (Mac and PC). I like to make short films, and fancy myself a talented singer/songwriter.
My job here on this site is to play tech guru and my posts tend to be aimed toward odd facts and gadgets.
VTGIRL:
I am, in fact, an accidental blogger. I have always been hesitant about sharing myself via the Internet. I guess it’s because I have a terrible habit of dating web designers. We (my boyfriend Lapster and I) started this blog about a year ago. I was going through a time of great transition in my personal life, and wanted to find a way to document the experience, but then as I started to write it felt much more fun to celebrate the things I love regardless of my personal circumstance. This was going to be a blog about gadgets. However, slowly but surely we have expanded to cover every aspect of our lives. I am working to break out of my people pleasing perfectionist personality and celebrate the little aspects of life that bring me great joy.
Originally, I was born in a small town in southern Vermont. Then my path becomes an wild arc into college in upstate New York, a year in Switzerland, Washington DC, Seattle, Philadelphia, back to Vermont, and now back in Seattle. Oh what a long strange trip its been. For several years, I have been working in activist and election politics (on the democrat and liberal side of the spectrum if you must know). Primarily, I was a field director and grassroots organizer. I had a great time working on the 2004 presidential election, and since then I have been a freelance consultant. My hobbies and passions are pretty evident from the blog posts. I am crazy about musical theater, poetry, DIY projects, and gadgets (if its got a plug – I probably want it).
Currently, I’m living in sweet bliss with my boyfriend Lapster in a little cabin in Seattle. I’m looking for work and trying to decide where my life will take me now as I look to turning 30.
Thanks so much for reading. We appreciate it!
