Yes, if you can believe it I was up before 8am. Lapster was working early today and I got up like a good little girlfriend to keep him company, and make coffee (even made sure he ate his oatmeal before he got on the road). After he left, I was in the back room working when I saw my new Christmas baby and had to turn her on.
Before I go on . . .
This year my cool factor went up exponentially. Lapster bought me my first electric guitar. A beautiful little Fender Stratocaster with a sunburst body that I have now affectionately named – Sunkist. She is beautiful and every time I play it I’m filled with Janis Joplin dreams.
So now back to my original story . . .
We have new neighbors. Three women who have moved into the house next door. Lapster is excited about it as you can imagine . . . “Dear Penthouse, I’ve never written a letter like this before, but last week three new women moved in next door and…†I, on the other hand, am skeptical of having to share my newly clean laundry room with new people. Might have to stake my claim early. And feel the need to make some sort of welcome gift to pretend that I am a Martha Stewart type.
But this morning at 7:45am while in our home office I started out doing legitimate work, but the moment I finished I turned on my new Fender Stratocaster and blasted a not very fluid version of “Born to Run†(loud singing a.k.a yelling included). Bet my new neighbors are pretty psyched about that. I just couldn’t help it.
Best present ever. Thanks Lapster.
