VTGirl had the idea to put a handmade spider in the window of our house and I thought that was great, with plenty of fake spider webs around it and a few pumpkins nearby. Then we went to Target and found a spider kit! It has huge, with 5 plastic bags which you’re supposed to fill with newspaper or leaves. We thought, Great! Our own black evil spider! I decided to make a face for it out of cardboard and a red bulb, and while I was working on that, VTGirl discovered that the plastic that made up the spiders body was a little thin and tore easily (which I relay to you as a warning if you go and buy this kit!). Packing peanuts might work better, but who has gallons of packing peanuts just lying around?
We worked very hard on it and I think the result is great. To see it in all it’s glory take a gander at this video.

Thank you very much. It looks great now, but it was quite an ordeal to get it up there and last night when the rain hit Lapster and I both thought the same thing — “oh man, we might lose the spider.” Hopefully it will stay through the end of the week. Hope your kitten is doing well.
