I hardly understand this, but it makes me happy, nonetheless. The folks at CERN have developed the first “self-contained antiproton factory”. They used to collect anti-protons by hand, with a magnetic butterfly net (tee-hee-hee), but now the process is automated. The fact that antiprotons can be ’stored’ and ‘tuned’ for other experiments (including the synthesizing of ‘antimatter’) is like music in a jar to my ear.
